I've been barely here or absent for far too long but now I'm back. Life has been wildly chaotic and eventful over the past few months and years and that along with depression has kept down the desire to do anything more than really necessary. I've been slowly becoming more active again and decided that in the new year I'd make some changes, aiming for better health, more art, more reading, more productivity and less hiding away doing nothing :lmfao: I'm doing a photo a day challenge and I just got a website started, it's still not anywhere near complete though but I'll link to it when it's looking a bit better.

I am Axel Rafn and I dabble in a lot of things, but mainly do photography these last couple of years.

At the moment I am studying fine art photography here in Iceland and hope to do good things with my interest and hone my skills with the camera.

Kind of giving up

I've kind of given up on this platform, Deviant Art isn't what it used to be and I feel that a lot of made this website a good website has gone. Now we all (I'm not innocent) share in hopes for likes and admiration of others, we are all part of the problem. Before it used to be constructive criticism, admirers and fun with sharing our passions, today we do it all for meaningless likes. I follow a lot of talented photographers today and I try to be constructive but I too fall in this pit of only drive-by-liking and/or pinning the work as something I'd like to try or use as an idea or resource for future projects. Or is this just me?

What to do what to do

Well, summer is coming soon so I am busy as heck trying to organize and use my time this summer to finish a couple of projects I've been wanting to do for some time. I've posted a casting call on Model Mayhem ( see here: http://www.modelmayhem.com/casting/2317402 ) for those interested. I plan to travel all over Iceland in my spare time and my summer holiday, trying to capture all I can to remember it by. I will be doing fine art nudes, fine art landscape as well as classic portraiture and even pin up if I find a willing model to work with. I have my trusty popup camper, which is gas heated so I (and those with me) won't be cold! God I can
